Comparative Studies of Esterase Isozyme in Tissues of Rat by Hormone Control.

Abstract
Esterase isozymes from brain, liver, skeletal muscle, spleen, kidney and serum of male and female albino rats (Rattus norreyicus) aged 1 month and 8 months, and from various organs injected testost¡þerone were separated by polyacrylamide gel-electrophoresis.
The results were as followings:
1) Esterase isozymes from brain, liver, skeletal muscle, spleen and serum showed same pattern of 3, 5, 3, 3 and 2 without relation to sex, age, and injection of testosterone, while electrophoresis band of those were set in different position each other in accordance with developing speed.
2) Esterase isozyme from kidney showed same pattern in developing speed and band number without relation to age and injection of testosterone, but showed different pattern with regard to sex as it was 5 bands in female and 4 bands in male.
3) In the experimental group injected testosterone, male and female rats aged 1 month showed same pattern as comparative group, while one more band presented in female rats aged 8 months. It sug¡þgested that testosterone influenced to esterase in female.
4) Esterase isozymes from 6 organs were grouped to 5 in the point of developing speed of bands in electrophoresis.
